DME has faults for start system time out, start system pinion starter time out. EME has fault for starter unit auxiliary battery aged. WORK NEEDED replace starter and auxiliary starting battery…customer authorized replacement of starter and auxiliary battery…after repairs, cleared faults and road tested vehicle…no further "drivetrain malfunction" lights coming on at this time. (starter was sold to customer at our cost, warranty issues with starter will be handled through an authorized BMW dealership, recommend to customer to come to ALPINE first to confirm starter warranty)

Interrogated fault memory and found misfire faults logged for cylinder #1…installed good used spark plug and coil and found misfire is still logging on #1 cylinder…upon further diagnosis, found fuel leaking from cylinder #1 and #2 injector. (see below for repairs)
Found fuel injector #2 was installed incorrectly (crooked) and found #1 injector (new) was the wrong injector, EU6 injector was installed instead of EU5 injector…also found that injector #1 was installed without the coupler and was not programmed to vehicle (oblonged injector port on head slightly, but not leaking at this time)…installed USED EU5 injector with coupler and programmed to vehicle…after programming road tested vehicle and found no further misfires on cylinder #1 at this time. Also recommended to replace spark plugs but customer declined.

Found valve cover oil seperator valve faulty. see below for repairs.
Found oil seperator valve faulty in valve cover assembly…recommend to first replace valve cover assembly and vent hose…customer authorized repairs.
Found fuel injector #5 damage due to incorrect installation (no coupler installed)…replaced #5 injector with used part…road tested vehicle…no further faults for fuel injector is coming back a this time.
Cannot perform alignment at this time due to rusted tie rods and rusted rear adjustment eccentric bolts and shims.
Found right rear shock bolt missing where shock mounts to control arm…threads were stripped…installed larger bolt to hold shock to control arm until customer is ready to purchase control arm for proper repair. (customer declined replacement of arm at this time and is aware that this is only a temporary "fix")

Found that rotors have frictional hotspots causing steering wheel to shake, especially at higher speeds…recommend to replace front brake rotors (pads recently replaced elsewhere)…customer authorized replacement…after repairs found that brake "Shimmy" is no longer present at this time.

Upon inspection, found oil filter housing leaking oil and coolant…recommend to replace oil filter housing gasket..customer authorized replacement…installed new oil filter housing gasket set…after installation, cleaned off residual oil off bottom of engine…road tested vehicle, found no further leaks from oil filter housing at this time.
